What’s new

Latest: 1.2.1, 3 November 2026

Every Airlock update, newest first. Once you say yes, Airlock checks for updates by itself and shows these notes after each one. From 1.0.26 on, “Also in this update” lists the smaller changes too.

1.2.1 ·

Webinar notes and the right words

  • With no call on, Take Notes takes notes of the app playing sound. Headphones are fine.
  • Your voice goes in those notes only while that app is using your microphone.
  • On “Check these words”, Type it lets you write the right word. It goes in everywhere.
  • During a call, the notch’s call pill keeps clear of the menu bar icons beside it.

Also in this update

  • With nothing playing, Take Notes still takes notes of a meeting in the room.
  • Notes of an app end when you press Stop, the app quits, the Mac sleeps or nothing is heard for 15 minutes, and are kept however short.
  • A word you type on “Check these words” joins your words in Settings, so the next call spells it right. Escape closes the box and changes nothing.
  • On a crowded menu bar the call pill drops the app’s logo first, then the timer’s seconds. The open panel still shows everything.

1.2.0 ·

Windows in place, and a better Shelf

  • With Plus, drag a window to the notch or rest on its green button to snap it to a half or quarter.
  • Select files on the Shelf as in Finder, or drag a box over several, then drag them out together.
  • Write it out puts what you said on the clipboard. Copied call notes paste neatly anywhere.
  • The notch opens without a bounce and hides only over full-screen video. Dictation keeps up on M1.

Also in this update

  • Window layouts also work from the keyboard and from the menu bar’s menu. On Free they show a Plus tag and nothing moves.
  • On a Mac without a notch, the island hides when there’s nothing to show.
  • Copied call notes and transcripts keep their headings and lists when pasted into Notes, Mail or a document.
  • The notch no longer gets stuck over a full-screen video.
  • The transcript window opens at once, down the right side of the screen.
  • When the island shows a meeting, opening it lands on the calendar.
  • Home’s tips can be closed, and they stay closed.
  • Moving a file off the Shelf no longer says it couldn’t go to the Trash when it did.

1.1.0 ·

In Spanish, with a drop box

  • Airlock speaks Spanish now. It follows your Mac’s language, or choose one in Settings › General.
  • Drop a file on the notch to keep it, AirDrop it or change its format. Plus also removes backgrounds.
  • Hold to ask and the ⌥Space bar are gone, to keep Airlock simple. Dictation setup is one path now.
  • On Free, a call past 30 minutes is kept on your Mac for 7 days. Plus opens it, sending only a key.

Also in this update

  • Every kind of file gets its own choices in the drop box: picture formats, one PDF, smaller copies and copying the text; splitting a PDF or making pictures of its pages; MP4, sound only, a GIF of a film’s start or no sound; writing a recording out or getting notes from it; a PDF or plain text from a document; a zip for folders.
  • Work that takes a while, like a big film, shows as a small cloud beside the notch that fills up as it goes. It turns green when it’s done.
  • On Free, WebP and Remove background show a Plus tag. Dropping a file there leaves it where it was and says what Plus adds.
  • Your first three file drags show a short hint under the notch.
  • In your first days, Home shows a “Try these” card.
  • Asking questions about a call and the voice and typed actions (opening apps, media, Shortcuts) are gone too.
  • Turning on dictation walks you through each Mac switch, and each row ticks by itself once it’s on. Setup also helps when a Mac is managed by work, or an old key approval gets in the way.
  • Call transcripts settle on the right language within their first lines.
  • On Discord calls over the Mac’s speakers, the other person no longer ends up under “You”.
  • Answering one of Claude’s questions from the notch no longer shows a red error in Claude.
  • On Free, call notes with several people say that Plus tells each voice apart.
  • On Free, a Plus card stays until you press Not now or See Plus, and is no longer used up while something else fills the notch.
  • After a skipped update, the What’s new card names the new version and links to every change here.

1.0.26 ·

Call notes by topic

  • On Plus and Pro, call notes go topic by topic, with to-dos by person and words to check.
  • Files dragged onto the island now land in the tray on a monitor too.
  • What you copy from Airlock itself, like a call’s notes, now shows in clipboard history.
  • Settings › Plans is simpler, and Settings pages link to help on the website.

Also in this update

  • Online call notes list names and figures that may have been misheard. One click fixes every place it was heard, and adds the name to Words to know.
  • Each topic shows when it came up. Click the time to go to that moment of the call.
  • Open questions come with a line of context.
  • Notes written on your Mac now group to-dos by person too.
  • After an in-person meeting, “That’s me” puts the right word in the notes’ own language, like “tú” in Spanish notes.
  • A Help menu, in the menu bar icon’s menu and at the top of the screen while Settings is open.
  • Setup says what Free includes and what Plus adds.
  • On Free, the menu bar menu has “Upgrade to Plus…”, and a card after your first week says what Plus would add. It shows once.
  • On Plus, Settings › Plans offers Pro through your subscription page, so you never pay twice. A payment that didn’t go through shows there too.
  • “What each plan writes” shows the Plus and Pro example notes by topic.
  • Copying with ⌘C in Airlock’s windows, and copying a dictation or an answer, now land in clipboard history too.
  • When a full-screen app hides the menu bar, the drop area on a monitor hides with the island.
  • If you share which features you use, Airlock also counts when a plan reminder shows and when checkout opens. Never what you type.

1.0.25 ·

Who said what on calls

  • On Plus and Pro, call notes tell the voices apart: Person 1, Person 2… Name them after.
  • For that, Airlock downloads a voice model once, about 100 MB. Nothing about you is sent.
  • Voices are told apart on your Mac, and no voice is remembered after the call.
  • On Free, the other side stays “Them”. Settings › Voice shows what Plus adds.

1.0.24 ·

Discord calls, and plainer words

  • Discord calls are noticed now, so Airlock offers to take notes as it does for other calls.
  • The call notes window no longer goes black partway through a long call.
  • Call notes show the time of day for each part, and the live card counts the minutes.
  • Plainer words in the notch and Settings, and every stop says what to do next.

1.0.23 ·

Free, Plus and Pro

  • Airlock now comes as Free, Plus or Pro. Settings › Plans shows yours and what each adds.
  • Subscribed before plans came? You’re on Plus and keep everything you had.
  • Share which features you use to help improve Airlock. Off unless you say yes, never what you type.
  • Calls and Settings share one window that reopens where you left it, plus dictation and Zoom fixes.

1.0.22 ·

Call notes, more like an app

  • Call notes and Settings now show in the Dock, in ⌘Tab and in Stage Manager.
  • Name the other person during the call. Notes say “the other person”, not Them.
  • A Mac notification tells you when a call’s notes are ready.
  • Airlock no longer quits by itself after a call. Quitting mid-notes asks first.

1.0.21 ·

Call notes that keep up

  • Subscribers’ call notes are now written online by default, no question asked.
  • Rather keep them on your Mac? Turn off Write notes online in Settings › Voice.
  • Words show up as they’re said, and the side window shows your words and theirs during the call.
  • A call with no calendar name gets a title from what it was about.

1.0.20 ·

Better call notes, online

  • Subscribers can have call notes written online, with better summaries and to-dos.
  • Nobody keeps your call. Offline, or if you’d rather not, your Mac writes the notes.
  • Change your mind any time on the Voice page in Settings.

1.0.19 ·

Notes from your calls

  • When a call starts, the notch offers to take notes. A summary and to-dos come when it ends.
  • Watch the words appear as they’re said, in a small window beside the call.
  • Settings look like the notch now. Call notes can be turned off on the Voice page.
  • If Airlock ever crashes, it can send us a report, but only if you say yes.

1.0.18 ·

Cleaner calls, and what’s new

  • During a call, the notch shows a crisp logo of the app you’re calling.
  • A Google Meet call in your browser shows Meet’s logo, even after you switch tabs.
  • After each update, Airlock shows a short card with what changed. Once.

1.0.0 to 1.0.17 · 14 September to 6 October 2026

Before this list

Airlock’s first versions came out before it kept notes like these. Whichever one you have, it updates straight to the newest.

Look up.
